The University of Pennsylvania has written an interesting study (PDF format) on how the smudges on mobile touchscreen displays can be photographed and analyzed to give away password information. They call this a smudge attack.

The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) is threatening to ban BlackBerry services. This is because BlackBerry uses centralized processing in several secure Network Operations Centers around the world with encrypted connections, meaning the U.A.E. can't eavesdrop.
